Day 4: Easy on Sunday Morning (well, really afternoon)

After realizing my knee pain was due to improper fitting shoes, I headed to a local running speciality store to pick up a new pair of kicks. I have only good things to say about the store and it is always fun and motivating to get new running equipment.

The weather was a HOT 79 degrees and it always feels 10 degrees hotter when I run. Since it was the afternoon I invited my kids to ride their bikes with me. I also "invited" my dog to run with me. She has a run/hate relationship with running. She loves it as long as the run is not too close to her dinner time.

As the five of us took off on our run, I noticed the dog was lagging behind me, so as I'm running I'm dragging a 70 pound dog and I can't figure out why. Then I noticed who else was behind me, the girls on their bikes. As soon as I told the girls to pedal ahead of me, the dog was then pulling me in order to catch the girls. It was like she was trying to stay with her pack. It was sweet to watch the interaction between the dog and girls.

We all just ran/biked the neighborhood and I had no great insight or inspiration. But I was with my family doing something I love, in brand new shoes, so in the end, it was a great run.
